The Four Events
One run, one hurdle, one shot off the table. Maximum power, height, distance, and stuck landing.
Swings, release moves, high-to-low transitions, and dismounts — the high-flying event with zero margin for error.
Four inches wide. Four feet off the ground. Ninety seconds of acrobatics, leaps, and total composure.
Dynamic tumbling passes, artistic dance, and choreography set to music across the full spring floor.

Representing Guilderland High School in NYSPHSAA Section II Suburban Council competition. We foster athleticism, confidence, teamwork, and competitive excellence across all four gymnastics apparatus.
Our Mission
To empower student-athletes through disciplined training, positive sportsmanship, and personal growth. Guilderland Gymnastics welcomes both experienced club gymnasts and dedicated multi-sport athletes aiming to learn new skills.
League & Section II
Guilderland competes in Section II alongside Saratoga, Shaker, and Bethlehem Schools. Meets feature head-to-head duals, multi-team invitationals, Sectionals and an opportunity to advance to the NYSPHSAA State competition based on qualifying scores.
Home Training Venue
Our home practices and home meets take place in the gym at Lynnwood Elementary School (134 Starling Rd, Schenectady, NY 12303). Lynnwood transforms into a premier high school gymnastics arena on meet nights. There are additional off-site practice opportunities, more information to come.
Home meets are held at Lynnwood Elementary. Sectionals and the Twist, Turns and Toys Invitational are hosted in the H gym at Shaker High School. Dates and times are subject to change.

Guilderland Gymnastics utilizes the sportsYou app for all official team communications. All student-athletes and parents/guardians should download sportsYou to receive real-time practice schedule updates, bus departure times, meet reminders, weather alerts, and team messages.

Athletic Clearance
All student-athletes must complete district athletic registration and submit a physical exam dated within 12 months prior to the first practice.

Home meets take place at Lynnwood Elementary. Gymnasium doors open 30 minutes prior to march-in time. Spectators are asked to remain in designated bleachers for athlete safety. In addition, please no flash photography.
Away Meet Transportation
District transportation is provided for all away meets at Saratoga, Shaker, Bethlehem, and Sectionals. Athletes must ride the team bus to and from competitions unless parent release forms are approved in advance.
How to Sign Up for Tryouts
Sports Sign-up Requirements
Students interested in playing school sports are required to sign up in the school health office. Students will be given a sports packet to be completed and returned (in person, by mail, or by fax: High School Fax: 518-861-5151 or Middle School Fax: 518-456-3747) before being cleared by the nursing staff prior to participating in tryouts for a particular sport. Additional sports packets will be available in the health office.
The Sports Sign-up Packet Includes Three Forms:
- Athletic Form — includes emergency contact information
- Required NYS School Health Examination Form — completed by private physician or school physician*
- Health History Update — this form cannot be completed earlier than 30 days prior to the start of the season
*If our nurse has a valid physical on file (within the last calendar year), the NYS School Health Examination Form is not required. It is only required if we do not have a valid physical on file.

Think Pink Invitational
Tuesday, December 29, 2026 · 10:00 AM · Lynnwood Elementary Gym
The Tradition
The Think Pink Invitational is Guilderland's signature home event. Section II rivals compete side-by-side to raise awareness and support for breast cancer research and local family support funds.
Meet Schedule & Format
Warmups begin at 9:30 AM, and event begins at 10:00 AM. Featuring 4-event rotations across Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam, and Floor Exercise with Section II judges. This charity event focuses on bringing Section II together to support our community. There will be informal awards presented based on performance.
Basket Raffle & Concessions
Parents and boosters host a basket raffle, and complimentary concession stand during the meet. There is a $2 entry fee. All raffle proceeds directly benefit the breast cancer donation fund.
Team Fundraising
Help support equipment upgrades, safety mats, competition leotards, and travel expenses for Guilderland student-athletes.

Get On The Mat
Trying Out — Four Steps
Pre-season open gyms let coaches see where you are and let you meet the team. No complex routines required.
All student-athletes must complete district athletic registration and submit a physical exam dated within 12 months prior to the first practice.
Coaches place first-year gymnasts on the events that suit their strengths best and build skills from there.
Daily practices start in November; our first official meet is the first Saturday of December.
Back the Team
Gymnastics runs on grips, mats, chalk, wrist wraps, and meet fees. Support Guilderland athletes for the 2026–27 season.
Work a Home Meet
Hosting meets at Lynnwood requires equipment set-up, scoring table staff, concessions, and event tear-down.
